In 2023, Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) established branches in Leh and Kargil district called Regional Rehabilitation Centre/ Pradhan Mantri Divyasha Kendra with the core objective of furnishing vital aids and appliances to individuals requiring assistance. This endeavour is designed to improve the quality of life for those confronting mobility challenges by providing a diverse range of assistive devices, such as wheelchairs, crutches, and other supportive tools. The Ladakh ALIMCO centres serves as a significant resource for the local community, promoting accessibility and support for individuals with physical disabilities, thereby fostering inclusivity and empowerment in the region.
